Where To Go Eat, Drink, & Enjoy Northern, KY

Here’s where you can go eat, drink, and enjoy Northern Kentucky.  I’m sure I left out a place or two, so just email me to remind me, and if you know of any cool places I should check out next time I’m in town, just let me  know.  Thanks – Bernie

Covington

Revival  Vintage Spirits Shop – 5 E 8th St – Covington, KY – Vintage Spirits Shop and Tasting Room. It’s not a museum or Speakeasy,

OKBB – Old Kentucky Bourbon Bar – 629 Main St – This place has awesome local and regional beers and a great bourbon and American Whiskey selection. Molly Wellmann owns and runs the place with a great staff, and they make great cocktails. It’s pretty small, but has a nice patio out back when the weather is nice. Certified Bonded Premises; C.B.P. KY 629

Wiseguys – 603 Main St – Goodfellas Pizza by the slice is downstairs, and upstairs is Wiseguys Lounge. Great cocktails, and great whiskey selection. Certified Bonded Premises; C.B.P. KY-603.

Newport

Prohibition Bar – 530 Washington (next to Newberry Bros Coffee) – Kim and Peter Newberry own the place, and this has one of the largest bourbon and American whiskey selections in the state. It’s small, and Peter is usually bartending, and he can tell a story or three, especially when I’m there and he and I are going back and forth. He has Evan Williams Extra Aged Bourbon on TAP!

Pompilio’s – 600 Washington Ave – If you’ve seen the movie Rain Man, this is where the toothpicks dropped and he says 492! It doesn’t get more authentic Itallian than here. Historic place, with bocce ball courts in the back. Good Bourbon selection, and if there’s just a couple of you do yourself a favor and eat in the bar.

Bellevue Vets – 24 Fairfield Ave – Just down the street in Bellevue (next to Party Source, one of the largest liquor stores in the world!) This is a Military Veteran bar, but it’s open to the public, and they have ball fields, bingo, live shows, corn hole, carnivals, you name it.  You get a cheap beer and drink just about anytime there.  It’s full of regulars with great life stories.

Fort Mitchell

***Greyhound Tavern – 2500 Dixie Hwy – down home old school family owned joint. Best fried chicken EVER. They have all you can eat fried chicken nights…it’s crazy! And crazy good.
