Standing Weekly Gigs
Monday Nights at Lou Lou On Market – The Buzzards – Instrumental Jazz
Saturday Nights at Marriott Lobby Bar at 2nd and Jefferson is Hickory Vaught

Bearno’s By The Bay – casual Pizza Joint on a wharf with nice outdoor music venue where my buddy Jim Dishman plays every Wednesday. Stop on by, then, and also has music on the weekends too with a rotating cast of music acts.

Captains Quarters – 5700 Captains Quarters Rd. – (River Road past Lime Kiln Ln) – Seasonal since it is on the Ohio River, but really nice place on the weekends in the Summer with live music, food and drink. They also have the CQ Princess that has nightly cruises on the river.

Frankfort Ave Liquors – 2115 Frankfort Ave – This is a liquor store of the future. Private tasting room, a great selection of private barrel picks, and Kentucky only bourbons, but also a full bar, with Live Music on the weekends!

Headliners Music Hall – 1386 Lexington Rd – National /Regional Touring Acts and other great shows happen at this venue which was in the former National Distillers (Old Grand Dad and Old Crow) which if you look closely enough you figure out is amongst the old Brick Rickhouses.

High Horse – 1032 Story Ave Every SUNDAY NIGHT hosts live Honky Tonk Music venue known as The Do Drop Inn for decades is now High Horse, and you’ll see acts like Johnny Berry and the Outliers and others, but you have to look on their facebook page and find out when.

Lou Lou On Market – 812 E. Market St – In the heart of NuLu – Good food, and every MONDAY NIGHT the Buzzards play live jazz in the cool basement bar, and they have live music other nights too!

Mellwood Tavern – 1801 Brownsboro Road (at Mellwood Ave) – Not only does Scotty fry up some great Chicken every Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm until it runs out, they have great music on the weekends, and famous for their music festival-like stage outside on Sunday afternoons.

The Monarch – 1318 Bardstown Road – is a new concept in Louisville located in the heart of the Highlands Neighborhood. It is a LISTENING ROOM, so don’t go there to socialize and talk, you go there to LISTEN to the acts. But there’s plenty of time to talk in between, so it’s not like a monestary or anything. $20 a person suggested donation that goes right in to the musicians tip jar. This is also BYOB, so bring some samples you got from the distilleries, this is a non-profit place that is ALL about the musicians.

Stevie Rays Blues Bar – 230 E. Main St – been here as long as I can remember right downtown near all the hotels. Great live Blues Tuesday – Sunday.

The Whirling Tiger – 1335 Story Ave. – This venue is the iconic old Butchertown Pub and now it hosts some great live music Wednesday through Sunday.

Zanzabar – 2100 Preston St – hosts local, regional, and national acts. Molly Tuttle just played here! With an 80’s bar vibe complete with vintage arcade games, this is a cool venue indeed, and they serve Southern Style food.
